Summer Gathering
21-25th August
The guiding light for this Summer Gathering marking our 20th year will be Green Tara, the emerald goddess, who’s spirit of playful kindness and acceptance is very much at the heart of what Buddhafield East is about.
In a playful and creative exploration of all things green, and drawing on the rich tradition of British folk ritual, we will explore the connections between ‘The Green Woman of Buddhism’, and the green of Mother Earth.
And of course there will be all the usual Buddhafield East offerings of meditation, vibrant pujas, inspiring talks, dressing up, workshops, children’s area, saunas, tasty vegan food, and enjoying community around the campfire, with songs, stories and laughter!
Unless you are joining the Set-up Camp, please plan to arrive from after lunch on Wednesday 21st.
The Set-up camp is a smaller camp that takes place prior to the Summer Gathering. It starts on the Monday and lasts until Wednesday when people start to arrive for the Gathering. Shared meals are provided from the Monday evening.
Everyone works together to set-up the big tents and other facilities for the Summer Gathering. We also meditate together, have meals together and sit around the camp fire in the evenings.
Its hard work, good fun and a great way to build community. What is more, the Gathering depends upon people joining the Set-up Camp so joining is an act of generosity, an important Buddhist practice. You can indicate your interest when you book for the Gathering.
All of our events are drug and alcohol free. Sorry, no dogs. Vegan food is included.
